Reflections

When you spend 8-10 hours on a motorcycle you have a lot of time to think and reflect. I have had a lot of time over the past 16 days to think and reflect. I have ridden by places and towns my brother and I rode through on our first trip to Alaska in 2015.

I have a picture of us as we began the Alcan Highway. I can recall camping in Seward and at the Harley dealership in Anchorage. They still allow you to do this in Anchorage and when hotels and motels are 250 plus dollars that is a great deal. I can vividly remember a really difficult stretch of road near Destruction Bay where it took me an hour and a half to ride 26 miles. I was able to reflect on that last trip with my brother as I rode through familiar areas. And the one thing that is consistent with both trips is the beauty of God’s creation.

From the mountains, the rivers and lakes hidden by the trees, all of the different animals that crossed my path and the beautiful sunrise’s and sunsets all are the reflection of our creator. The beauty that I witnessed was incredible.

A very special time was taking off in a float plane from Lake Hood, flying over the Cook Inlet and flying down the Kenai River and landing at Skilak Lake.

The lake was so quiet, still and a time to reflect on my brother and what he meant to me. In the midst of challenges God is good. A memory of God’s creation that I will always remember.

Here are a few pictures of God’s creation.

Grace and peace,

Clint
